Adventures in Legal Land Seminars & Workshops – Dealing with Legal Attacks

Posted on February 22nd, 2012 by Marc Stevens

I’m setting up seminars and workshops for this year regarding dealing with legal attacks.  This is for damage control; once attacked by a bureaucrat you’ve already lost; this is to limit the damage they are going to do.

Seminars & workshops are one day long, usually from 9am to 5pm, sometimes till we get asked to leave.  You’ll learn the foundational information so you know and understand why asking questions is so effective.

The most effective strategy and method to getting tyrants to leave you alone is to be non-confrontational and to destroy the facade of legitimacy the tyrant is putting up.  We make it impossible for the tyrant to make the charade look good.  It’s very uncomfortable to contradict yourself in front of people who think you’re a black-robed god.

Asking if there’s evidence of a complaining party is effective, but much more so when you know why and can back it up.  Judges can tell when you are not confident and will definitely do what they need to do to get you off-point. We go through a lot of information, including:

* The nature of government and of tyrants’ “due process” procedures

* How to write and file motions, including appeals and stopping trials/hearings

* How to effectively cross-examine/question a witness to have him/her declared incompetent

* Why focusing on the witness’s competency and the facts is more effective than raising legal arguments

* You’ll also learn how to not only get IRS and other agents to admit they don’t have any evidence or proof, but how to effectively follow-up and have them stop laughing.

This is the infamous IRS call where the agent laughs when he asserts he doesn’t need proof.  It’s refreshing to see some honesty from the low level tyrants.  Listen to “Daniel” admit the same thing here.  Listen as Ed, also of the California Franchise Tax Board, admits no one at the FTB can verify my client is a taxpayer with taxable income:

Each paid admission includes a criminal script and motion template we’ll be using at the workshop, both sell separately for $25 each.  Admission is $75 per person.  We’ll be working extensively with each and doing role-playing and mock trial proceedings.

I am working arrangements and dates for a few more workshops this year, pre-registration is encouraged, please register soon to ensure the below dates.  If you’re interested in having a workshop in your area, I generally need about twenty prepaid registrations to be able to confirm a date.  Contact me if you’re interested and I can mention locations on the radio show.

I’ve been looking at four other locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles,  Dallas and Salt Lake City.  We’re looking at April or May for Layton again; we’re also planning another blues jam.  Below is a video of part of the blues jam (thanks Spencer) from the Feb 18 workshop at Cafe Libertalia in San Diego:

  1. George Says:

Ever think of coming to Florida?

  2. Marc Stevens Says:

I’ve been wanting to get to Miami for years. All depends on the interest though

  3. German Says:

When are you going to do one in Phoenix, AZ?!

  4. Kat Says:

Do you know if your coming to the Bay Area? We could really use you out here. Especially with the ‘occupy’ situation. Oakland would be a good place to come. I want to learn everything I can; criminal, civil, and taxes, to help as many people I can. The police, CHP, and courts are really taking advantage of us. Were tired of them taking our hard earned money.

  5. Marc Stevens Says:

It all depends on the numbers, I need 20 people pre-registered to cover expenses

  6. chris Says:

Yes please come to the bay area…I will be there!

  7. Akhero Says:

I missed the workshop in LA last year I am glad this is going to be in San Diego. I’ll be there.

  8. Marc Stevens Says:

Great,it has not been confirmed yet, but it should be Feb. 18

  9. tom vinson Says:

Dear Marc, I would very much like to attend your workshop in San Diego. Can I just mail the money order with my name to pre-register? Or do you need any other info in advance? I am facing Felony Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor DUI charges with a Public Defender who is not really helping. I have consulted with 3 lawyers who want $5,000 to $10,000 for their “help”

  10. Marc Stevens Says:

It’s set for Feb. 18th and you can mail the $75. Email me about this

  11. Nathan Mills Says:

    Hi Mark
I plan on attending in San Diego. I also want to join you for the jam session. I am a pro trumpet player in San Diego. I heard you have a sax player coming – who is it?

  12. Marc Stevens Says:

Very cool, I’ll email you about this.

  13. John Says:

It’s been close to ten years since I read your guide to the public relations rabbit hole. It’s DEEP!
How’s the count for the SF Bay area?
    Whatever it is,
    I’ll contribute 2 more.
Should we plan on seeing you in Oakland when you are in THIS STATE
    for your San Diego event?
    Thanks, Marc – for everything.

  14. Marc Stevens Says:

@ John email me about it, Oakland is probable

  15. John Says:

    Greetings, Marc;

    I just found your reply,
I’ve got this email ready, and can’t find your address.
Seems here is as good a place as any. . .

    1. Marc Stevens Says:

@ John email me about it, Oakland is probable

As much as I hate to start anything with an apology,

It appears I must this time, because I sure dropped the ball.

Not only do I apologize, I sincerely regret it.

Is it too late to pick it up?

    Again, thanks for everything, Marc.
You’ve helped more than you may ever know.

    – John

  16. Elizabeth Renaud Says:

    Hi, Mark,

I am planning to attend the San Diego event. Do you want me to put payment in the mail or bring with me?

  17. Marc Stevens Says:

You can bring it with you, will help to have a computer with you though to have the files we’ll be using.

  18. Minos Muse Says:

    Hi Marc,

Just wanted to make it clear that it’s $75/each for admissions. Can I bring it tomorrow to cafe Liberteria? Thanks.

  19. Marc Stevens Says:

Yes, but bring a computer if you can so you can get the docs, I may not have enough hard copies for everyone.

  20. Skemuno Says:

    Hi Marc,

I registered to the site in hopes of finding a role playing partner but my account has yet to me activated… Therefore I cannot post messages or PM anyone. The strange thing is I was able to post on your thread called “My traffic ticket” and make a post. I explained my situation and I found someone willing to role play with me but he said to contact him through the forum but I cannot post or private message anyone… Please activate my account, thanks in advance.

  21. Marc Stevens Says:

There are a few glitches with the forum, you’re activated.

  22. bruce sloane Says:

who is the bass player ..?? the one with the bald spot …

  23. John Says:

You and your site have come a LONG WAY!
    I’m impressed, and very grateful.
I’m still looking forward to attending one of these seminars.
How’s the count for the SF Bay area?
    As I said last time. . .
    Whatever the count is,
    I’ll contribute 2 more.
I’m supprised you aren’t getting more response.
You have what we NEED to learn.
If necessary, I’m sure I know a couple more who would want to attend.
They just don’t know it yet.
Well, they do, but it’s just not at the top of their list to spend what few bucks they have on.
That will quickly change if you are/by the time you head this way!
That makes 4 seats you can count on being filled to make this happen.
Response on your site seems kinda slow, and a seminar is a very localized thing compared to the WORLD wide web.
Would it be possible to quietly advertise locally?
If so, how would you want it structured?
Tell me you have some fliers already made up in PDF, that can be downloaded, printed, and posted. . . OR,
Tell me what else I can do to make this happen!
Thanks again, Marc – for Everything.

  24. Jeff Says:

Any possibilities of an east coast seminar. I would love to catch you in boston or new york

  25. David Says:

    Hi Marc,

“Dittos” also, to the preceding post/ remark. Any chance of a seminar on the east coast/ New England area, including metro Boston, or other locale? Please let me know at your earliest chance or opportunity. I’m sure that your information, particularly all revisions since you did past workshops in Austin. We’d love to have you come east sometime.

    Best regards, and Appreciatively,

  26. teresa h. Says:

marc, are you still doing consults & answering an e-mail or two? looks like your e-mail address has changed & is no longer correct? do you give out the new one? need a little help at this time. you’ve been a great help to me these past couple of years.

  27. Marc Stevens Says:

@ teresa I am doing both, looks like the has a problem, use marcstevens(at)mail(dot)com

  28. Dave Says:

    Boston area would be excellent

  29. Marc Stevens Says:

I would like to go to Boston.

  30. Dave Says:

What needs to happen to make that happen? You have a mailing list, 20 people at 75 bucks doesn’t seem like too high a hurdle

  31. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Dave you’d think that, it’s always tough to get the orders in advance, most want to pay at the door. I can’t do that because I have to pay for the flight and room. I can post something about it and see what kind of interest there is. I’m thinking it’s going to be easier when the new book is finally out.

  32. Dave Says:

I would like you to come here, let me know what I can do to help

  33. Dave Says:

I am not far from Keene NH too, maybe we could pull from there, about an hour west of Boston

  34. Dave Says:

This email isn’t working what are you using now?

  35. Marc Stevens Says:

    @ Dave, use marcstevens(at)mail(dot)com

  36. Minos Muse Says:

is there another workshop in san diego this month. I like to go again and get training. thanks

  37. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Minos, no I don’t have anything planned for San Diego. Have tentative plans for Garnder, Mass. for July 28, 2012 though. May get back to Salt Lake this summer also.

  38. Bob Says:

Hey Marc, love what your doing and cant get enough of it. The good news is people are starting to wake up, the bad news is we still need more people to wake up. AMERICA WAKE UP!!! any plans on visiting NC Raleigh, Durham or Charlotte ? I would love to sit in the workshop… LRN radio app for the iPhone is a must for everyone..

    Thanks Marc

  39. Gochange Says:

    Hi Mark,
I registered for the forum a couple of weeks ago and my account has not been activated yet. Please activate my account.

    Many thanks

  40. Marc Stevens Says:

    @ Gochange, done

  41. Joe from Pennsylvania Says:

Marc, I’d like to buy Adventures in Legal Land. I couldn’t find a way to do so on the website after clicking “Store.” How can I buy this book?

  42. Marc Stevens Says:

There is a paypal donation button on each page. You can also mail payment to PO Box 31258 Mesa, Arizona 85275, leave pay to line blank if check or money order.

  43. Josh Says:

Hey Marc. It would be awesome if you came to the UF (University of Florida) town of Gainesville, FL. The police here have a superiority complex you wouldn’t believe. I was pulled over today actually, I’ll be taking this to court and I am also seriously considering setting a fee schedule so that these crazy people in costume don’t mess with me as much. I couldn’t help but ask the officer today if he was giving me a valid course of action…I’ve never seen anybody so confused haha. Thanks for the tips sir, I’ll keep in touch as to the changes I make in this sauna.

  44. Marc Stevens Says:

Big problems with the local gang, can’t wait to get there. After the new book is out I should be able to finally get to Florida.

  45. NonE Says:

Factually, what IS a valid course of action? (speaking of confused! 😉

    – the Very Good NonE

  46. bruce sloane Says:

    1. Duty of care

    a. A duty of care is an obligation recognized by the law.

    b. Such a duty requires the actor to conform to a certain standard of conduct.

    c. The purpose of such conduct is to protect others against unreasonable risks.

    2. Breach of duty – A failure to conform to the required standard

    3. Causation

    a. Causation-in-fact

    b. “Proximate” causation

    4. Actual damage

    a. Negligence grew out of “action on the case”, which required proof of actual damages.

    b. Recovery of nominal damages is not allowed.

    c. It’s uncertain just what constitutes damage.

These elements are not discrete, but rather, they are all related. Another definition of negligence is “conduct that falls below the standard of care established by law for the protection of others against the unreasonable risk of harm”.

  47. NonE Says:

“a. A duty of care is an obligation recognized by the law.”

    Translated into reality, we have:

    a. A duty-of-care is an obligation recognized by a bunch of opinions someone wrote down on some paper somewhere, sometime.

How can a piece of paper have an obligation?

    – the Very Good NonE

  48. bruce sloane Says:

Your …Question was, and let me Quote ” Factually, what is a COURSE of action”

I believe that question has been Answered

    now …

    We have Your Opinion …

    don’t we ..??

  49. NonE Says:

You mention something about “the new book.” Has someone written a book? What’s it about? Do you have a link to it? Is it any good, or is it just more of that conspiracy crap that Bruce has proven untrue?

    – the Very Good NonE

  50. Michael Says:

I would like to attend a seminar, especially if it’s going to be in the San Francisco Bay Area. Would you please let me know if there will be any more of these seminars in the near future? Thank you in advance

  51. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Michael, I may be doing a workshop in the Bay area in March 2013.

  52. Michael Says:

Thanks for the sppedy response Marc. Will you be having a seminar sooner than that at another location, like in January? I ask because the information you have is crucial to me no longer living in fear of the traffic police. Thanks again

  53. Kelly Says:

Marc, I enjoy your video’s on youtube about the “state” and listening to your phone call with Kim, the IRS agent. I believe in the success of your approach of keeping to the facts and asking the opponent if they have a witness who will testify, who has first hand knowledge of specific facts . I am currently dealing with building code enforcers and I am using a similar approach, now in the middle of that situation I need to stop a tax levy from the FTB of California. I could use some coaching or teaching related to litigation and my administrative filing. It is now February 2013, are you planning to have any seminars in the near future? If not, do you offer coaching?

  54. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Kelly, I do phone consultations.

  55. Kelly Says:

Marc, I also live in the San Francisco bay area, if you are still planning to have a seminar next month I would gladly register for it.

  56. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Kelly, there won’t be any workshops until the book is finally out. I prefer to be in SF in August anyway.

  57. Kelly Says:

Marc, Thank you for responding so quickly. I agree, San Francisco is a fabulous place to be in the summer season. I am very interested in receiving phone consultations. What is the next step in organizing a consultation? You may email my address listed above any information you prefer to not post on the forum. I look forward to our correspondence.

@ Kelly, there won’t be any workshops until the book is finally out.
Book? What book? Someone is writing a BOOK? Cool!

    – NonAntagonisticTwit

  59. Kelly Says:

@Mark, I understand, you are very busy and can not hold any workshops until your book is out. I am sure it will be a great read. On the issue of consultation, I would like to hire you for a phone consultation ASAP. I will leave my contact information, in this comment, I understand it is in the public view, I do not have a problem with that. . If you have time this week for consultation I will gladly compensate/donate extra to the cause. I am fighting this fight for my boyfriend as his “agent/attorney in fact/durable power of attorney” and I really want to make sure I am doing all I can.

  60. Nomos Says:

    Book? Someone say Book???

  61. NonE Says:

Naw. Nomos you’re just hearing things again. Go back to sleep. We’ll wake yoiu if anything important happens. Okay?

    – NonE 😉

  62. Nomos Says:

    Awwww MAN!!! 😀

  63. Dennis Says:

sign me up for a salt lake city event. you got my email, let me know when, where and how to pay.

  64. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Dennis, no workshops are planned until after the new book comes out. You can get on the mailing list for updates.

  65. Bruce Ross Says:

When is your next seminar in Phoenix? I’d like to attend one.

  66. Hector Valdes Says:

    Mr. Stevens,

    Ever plan on visiting Florida?

  67. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Hector, yes, after the new book Miami is almost a certainty.

  68. Jack Ross Says:

You can count me in for the Dallas meeting.

  69. David Says:

    Hi Marc,

Any future plans to come east, to New England region? Seminar could be done anywhere, including in so. New England (Conn., RI or Mass.) or else in No. New England (VT, NH or Maine). New England is usually not overly humid in the summer, espec. northern New England. Have some “chowdah” if you do come up this way, among other things. Anyway, I hope you consider or plan a trip east to New England region this year. Fall is also a great option, especially with fall foliage in late Sept. – late Oct. Think on it.

    Yours in freedom, liberty etc.,

  70. Lisa Says:

If you are going to be in Miami, maybe you should think about stopping by the Tampa area. I’m sure we could find attendees for you!

  71. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Lisa, it all depends on the interest, if there are enough people pre-paid I can do that.

  72. FigyrSk8r Says:

    Hi Marc;

I will see how many people I could recruit in my circle of friends and get back to you. I’m off to court tomorrow morning – currently studying your videos of impeaching the witness and “fair trial” questions for judge. Not sure how this will go; it’s now a “lesser offense”, driving on suspended license WITHOUT knowledge (prior, it was driving on suspended license WITH knowledge), so it’s supposed to be to my benefit!!! So I’m not so sure there will even be a police officer, since the offense has been changed (a different contract now). I do hope to walk out the same door I went IN, which was not the case in May…..

Glad to have a friend send me links to your videos. THANK YOU for all you do!!!

Lisa in St. Pete Beach, Fl

  73. Bill Says:

Marc – you need to come to New England.

  74. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Bill, happy to come back, will be doing workshops after the book is released.

  75. NonE Says:

    Marc Stevens Sed:
@ Bill, happy to come back, will be doing workshops after the book is released. —— BOOK? There’s a BOOK? What? When? How come we’re always the last to know these things? Whutzit about? Where do we get it? DAMN, man! This is EXCITING!!!

    – NonE

  76. Dan Says:

@NonExclusive, you really ought to know these things.

  77. NonE Says:

——–WHAT??? It’s been months, no years, no cent… well, years at least since he came out with Adventures. In all that time you’da thought he coulda let us know he was working on something else! I mean, it’s just common courtesy. Even if you DO live in a compound. Sheeeesh. – NonEqualibrium

  78. Dan Says:

@NonEluminated, I do see the light now.

  79. Jeff Says:

Are you ever planning on coming to Indiana again anytime soon?

  80. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Jeff, sure, after the new book is finally out I’ll be doing workshops again.

  81. randy Says:

I purchased a hard copy of your book Adventures in Legal Land. You did tell me it was on back order. I was just wondering how long it will be on back order.

  82. NonE Says:

    Marc Stevens Sed:

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! There’s a NEW BOOK coming out!!! WAY COOL!

    – NonE (you’d think Marc’uda shot me by now, woodentya?)

  83. Marc Stevens Says:

@ NonE, getting real tired of your crap 😉

  84. NonE Says:

    Marc Stevens Sed:

    That’s all you got? SERIOUSLY???

    – NonE 🙂

  85. Richard Connick Says:

At what addres can I send off to for a copy of AILL?

    Thank you,

  86. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Richard C, PO Box 31258 Mesa, Arizona 85275, if money order or check please leave the pay to line blank.

  87. Robert Wisniewski Says:

In the Austin area, be willing to go, to Houston, Dallas, San An…etc. to attend work shop, if you have any coming this way for 2014.

  88. Marc Stevens Says:

@ robert, yes, I can come back to Dallas, depends on the interest.

  89. david Says:

    hey Marc
wondering if you get to australia at all im not in trouble yet but have been looking for a career change and have been looking for a mentor and training.
Would love to attend one of your seminars
    kind regards

  90. Marc Stevens Says:

@ david, the plan is to get there this year, I need a stateless passport though. That is proving to be difficult though.

  91. Marc Stevens Says:

@ david, the plan is to finally get out there this year, it hinges on getting a stateless passport. It’s not looking too good though.

  92. Hermine Says:

Hi Marc, how would the success stories so far be applicable to us here in the UK, United Kingdom, England? If not, what are the differences . And do you know of any one in the UK , educating people on the same level, as you are?

  93. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Hermine, I have success stories posted from Canada, England and Australia. Vin James does NSP UK on awake radio and does regular workshops. It’s all the same PR really, always comes down to guns and the same argument: if you are physically in England, then the laws of England apply. Same for Canada, Australia etc. There is no evidence to support the argument, only the argument and a willingness to kill us to get compliance.

  94. Hermine Says:

Thank you Mark your response. I would like to know the outcome of the council tax situation, and any further update about the Legal Attack seminar. Once again much thanks.

    Kind regards

  95. larry Says:

Hey marc.. What is a stateless passport. and where can I get more info. on it..

  96. Marc Stevens Says:

@ larry, you can do a search to find info, it’s basically a passport that has limited accepted for people who are stateless. I believe Mike has one, his website is

  97. Mike Says:

    Come out to vegas!

  98. andrew Says:

hey man you wanna come to australia?

  99. Marc Stevens Says:

Would love to mate. All depends on the interest though, there has to be enough people committed to cover the expenses.

  100. Jared Richardson Says:

Really having difficulty finding a way to pay for your advice Scripts and t-shirt sure wish this was a little easier

  101. Marc Stevens Says:

Shirts are not available anymore and you can use to order
