I had to facepalm when I heard Obama say this at a press conference on Monday January 14, 2013: “I won’t have this discussion with a gun at the head of Americans.” Here is a the video of this ridiculous statement:
I had to make something up about it:
And not one reporter called him on this. Excuse me, but doesn’t everything you do involve a gun to everyone’s head? Seriously, could the man have made it any easier for reporters?
Silly me, I must be mistaken, they wouldn’t allow real reporters near politicians; they may ask serious questions. With the exception of Jan Helfeld [his interview with us can be heard here], I have never seen or heard a reporter ever ask a really tough question to a politician. You will never hear someone like Obama called out on something like this. An honest reporter, interested in the truth would have asked Obama a question along these lines:
Why is it OK to put guns to the people’s heads for the support of the government and to get compliance, but not in this instance?
That would be real journalism though, and you’re not going to get that from any media near Obama.

In NY In March a new gun-magazine law goes into effect limited to a maximum seven rounds. Law enforcement officers will most likely be be exempt. The LEO exemption has yet to be written into the law.
Quote: “State Senator Eric Adams, a former NYPD Captain, told us he’s going to push for an amendment next week to exempt police officers from the high-capacity magazine ban. In his words, “You can’t give more ammo to the criminals”"
Eric Adams doesn’t pull the trigger, he just loads the guns.

I really like Jan Helfield – have not heard of him until this article – has anyone seen his Socratic Questioning Method video? It might be good – and Jan might be an interesting guest for the NSP

@sscharliem: Jan Helfield was a guest on the show last year when Calvin was guest-hosting. Its a really amazing interview, but I don’t know if its still on the archives here. I recall from that discussion that Helfield supports “state” violence, but on a minimal level (minarchist?). For example, he’s a supporter of the US Constitution.
I was hoping there would be a friendly Socratic-questioning battle between Stevens (voluntaryist) vs. Helfield, but it never happened, probably due to busy schedules.

YO! Calvin! I did a search for Jan Helfield and came up with zip. I also did a Google search and got the same zip. Where’s that interview and how would a mere mortal find it?
I remember the interview and thought that Helfield was a hypocrite, but it certainly should be available for people to listen to.

Gun laws have no effect in the common law. Gun laws are statutory, no injured party = no case in common law. Common law is the right of the people. Allow no labels other than man or woman, inhabitant or one of the people. Anything else and you have no right to common law.

Somehow this appears to be related to Voodoo dolls, but I’m not sure I’m finding the exact connection. Ahhh! It’s the fact that it’s a magical belief system! That’s it.
