Regarding violence, government, and “gun rights,” I’ll suggest that if there weren’t armed thugs interfering in almost every human interaction in the form of taxes, licenses, regulations, permits and so on the level of violence resulting from the shear desperation of people unable to simply and voluntarily trade and exchange with each other would be dramatically reduced. As Kennedy said, when you make peaceful revolution impossible you force violent revolution. (That’s just a loose paraphrase.) We’re being “protected” into violence for shear survival.
