RE: NonE's call about self-ownership
NonE old pal,

I too enjoy the clanging of cerebral gongs. I know the mind works in mysterious ways (just look at the separate accounts of a traffic accident). So sobering is this to me that I have to step back quite often and re-examine my thoughts. Am I coming from a base of what I think I know or from something I have actually tested. (Example: Global warming counter views on all sides of this one and even some discovered counterfeiting of data to support continued funding.) Historically through testing it has been determined the earth has gone through several cycles of this in its existence. By core sampling we have determined that this could be (huge speculation but with some base in factual data) another warming cycle.

Still, could man be the initiator of this cycle of warming? Possibly.

You and I both know that history is written by the winners. Does that make history truth or fiction? Maybe a little of both but the problem is we learn whatever they teach us (probably why most kids are turned off by it in school) but deep down inside I think we all realize that it has been manipulated to benefit the winners and play down the atrocities as patriotic duty or forced hands. (Much more difficult when a supposed nation annihilates an indigenous peoples as here in USA, or Australia or New Zealand or etc.)

It is widely believed that the books included in the Bible have been altered or at the very least edited in the time of Constantine, leaving some ancient writings out because they were not authorized (who was the authority?) I don't know. Yet I find good things in the bible too. Get past fish swallowing people, seas parting, smiting and so forth, and I find Jesus sage in his psuedo-socialist sort of way. His rules for living relatively easy to abide by.

If we lived in a society of mutual respect and honor then maybe things would be a whole lot easier. But then there the devil to pay.

The whole mind thing has got me buffaloed. Are we out of our mines when we are supposedly sane yet belief in fictions such states, countries, Law, Property, Copyright, etc? Or are we in our right minds when we say the emperor has no clothes when we can plainly see that he doesn't and he throws us in his dungeons for heresy? (Sigh!?!)Huh?
