Which is all the more reason to dispense with the illusion. Egos should not play a part in human interactions. It tends to turn on the territorial mechanism from the animal brain. Fear is the mind killer. We cannot operate objectively as long as fear can rule any situation. This has long been true and don't believe the sociopaths & psychopaths don't know that. My belief is that is why there are so many commercials about depression, anxiety and fatigue. We live in perpetual fear and hardly notice it because it is so prevalent.

Part of that fear is the stuff we think we own. Will some one break in and steal my stuff. How can I get more stuff. Is my stuff safe. Eventually, stuff owns you. It is cause for erratic behavior because the illusion we own anything is so strong we are willing to die for our stuff. The illusion is pathetically cruel because society will label you a coward for not fighting for your stuff whether it is your country (which practically is impossible to be yours besides the illusory aspects of the thing called country), your rights (what exactly are those?) defend your property (again based on an illusion).

NonE, I am all for a honorable acceptance of others personal space, even possession but those things do not come without a cost. People who are displaced from their supposed homes experience stress and fear, naturally. Take the current situation in Syria where many through no fault of their own have been forced across the border into Turkey, where makeshift tents are being thrown up to accommodate the infusion of thousands of refugees.

There is resentment by the people of Turkey near those areas because they feel they are shouldering an unwanted burden.

Still how can we operate with compassion if fear enters the picture. How do we operate honorably when lack can undermine the whole thing?
