NSP live ep 36 Anarchism, Voluntarism, Socialism and Communism

Posted on September 27th, 2017 by Marc Stevens

Good show despite the tech issue costing me my caller line.  Gabe called and we spoke about anarchism, voluntaryism, socialism and communism.  While all have the goal of a stateless society, only anarchy and voluntarism are consistent with do no harm.

Capitalism is based on real money. Not the communist 5th plank, funny money, debt-money system (a pyramid scheme) that is owned & controlled by foreign interests.

  2. JackW Says:

Yes, we who listen and know, are aware that “statism” is just politicians who impose their wills, i.e. they believe that the ends justify the means. In short politicians, no matter the breed, flavor, make or model, use violence to impose their beliefs and as such they are immoral. It is tragic that Amerikans have not figured out the scam but then most people are indoctrinated, propagandized and brainwashed by commie/socialist government controlled education and by the commie/socialist MSM.

It’s not just short politicians, it’s all of them!

Capitalism is based upon capital, the idea of creating a surplus beyond the needs of the instant. That is capital. Money is simply a way of trading capital.

These 2 quotes say it a lot better than I would have:

“A system of capitalism presumes sound money, not fiat money manipulated by a central bank. Capitalism cherishes voluntary contracts and interest rates that are determined by savings, not credit creation by a central bank.”
    Ron Paul

“To condemn free-market capitalism because of anything going on today makes no sense. There is no evidence that capitalism exists today. We are deeply involved in an interventionist-planned economy that allows major benefits to accrue to the politically connected of both political parties. One may condemn the fraud and the current system, but it must be called by its proper names, Keynesian inflationism, interventionism, and corporatism.”
    Ron Paul

I think Mussolini, said something like this: Corporatism and fascism are one and the same.

Just listened to the show. Tech (and Tom) issues aside, it was a great show, great discussion. Of course tharrin and I debated much of this a decade ago and came to no agreement. One thing I really have a problem with is the idea of holding “property” sacrosanct. I look around and see that, for the most part, life is migratory. Trees can’t migrate, but most other life forms migrate and by various means negotiate the use of territories seasonally. A good example of the horrors of strict ownership of property is when police prevented the refugees from Katrina from escaping the flood by crossing the bridge to dry land. The libertarian virtue of property is highly flawed. As the caller posited, I think the best solution is to develop a firm concept of self defense. When someone pulls a gun on you, shoot him.

Reflecting on my post above I think I see the human attribute that makes all of this not work… the idea that there is a solution. Law is an example. A law presupposes a given set of circumstances. But life is a constant evolution and flow. Consider a speed limit in a residential neighborhood. One mother will get outraged at someone speeding through her street endangering her playing children. Another mother will drive down that street at great speed to take her injured child to the hospital before she bleeds out. Which mother is right? There can never be one “right” way to do anything. There are probably cases where voluntary choices may not be optimal, but I’d be hard pressed to imagine one at the moment.
