I disagree that we are hardwired as pack animals. It’s more a software issue. Most people are social and cooperative, and those traits are taken advantage of by psychopaths. At some point early in our lives we are told that certain actions fill our social cooperation need. The problem is, what we are told is not mutually beneficial. Once the software is installed, it is not question.
The example I use in debates with Statists involves the ” yield ” sign. Ask anyone what color a yield sign is, and the answer is invariably ” yellow “. That is what we are told early on, and it is absolutely false. Yield signs have been red and white since 1971, and even though we pass them daily, our brains don’t update the info on their own.
Our brains run on software. The software must be updated!
