Adventures in Legal Land Seminars & Workshops – Dealing with Legal Attacks

Posted on February 22nd, 2012 by Marc Stevens

I’m setting up seminars and workshops for this year regarding dealing with legal attacks.  This is for damage control; once attacked by a bureaucrat you’ve already lost; this is to limit the damage they are going to do.

Seminars & workshops are one day long, usually from 9am to 5pm, sometimes till we get asked to leave.  You’ll learn the foundational information so you know and understand why asking questions is so effective.

The most effective strategy and method to getting tyrants to leave you alone is to be non-confrontational and to destroy the facade of legitimacy the tyrant is putting up.  We make it impossible for the tyrant to make the charade look good.  It’s very uncomfortable to contradict yourself in front of people who think you’re a black-robed god.

Asking if there’s evidence of a complaining party is effective, but much more so when you know why and can back it up.  Judges can tell when you are not confident and will definitely do what they need to do to get you off-point. We go through a lot of information, including:

* The nature of government and of tyrants’ “due process” procedures

* How to write and file motions, including appeals and stopping trials/hearings

* How to effectively cross-examine/question a witness to have him/her declared incompetent

* Why focusing on the witness’s competency and the facts is more effective than raising legal arguments

* You’ll also learn how to not only get IRS and other agents to admit they don’t have any evidence or proof, but how to effectively follow-up and have them stop laughing.

This is the infamous IRS call where the agent laughs when he asserts he doesn’t need proof.  It’s refreshing to see some honesty from the low level tyrants.  Listen to “Daniel” admit the same thing here.  Listen as Ed, also of the California Franchise Tax Board, admits no one at the FTB can verify my client is a taxpayer with taxable income:

Each paid admission includes a criminal script and motion template we’ll be using at the workshop, both sell separately for $25 each.  Admission is $75 per person.  We’ll be working extensively with each and doing role-playing and mock trial proceedings.

I am working arrangements and dates for a few more workshops this year, pre-registration is encouraged, please register soon to ensure the below dates.  You can register by using Alertpay though they have been having intermittent problems.  The best way is by either or sending cash, silver, or a blank check or money order to Marc Stevens P.O. Box 31258 Mesa, Arizona 85275-1258.

If you’re interested in having a workshop in your area, I generally need about twenty prepaid registrations to be able to confirm a date.  Contact me if you’re interested and I can mention locations on the radio show.

I’ve been looking at four other locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles,  Dallas and Salt Lake City.  We’re looking at April or May for Layton again; we’re also planning another blues jam.  Below is a video of part of the blues jam (thanks Spencer) from the Feb 18 workshop at Cafe Libertalia in San Diego:

Ever think of coming to Florida?

  2. Marc Stevens Says:

I’ve been wanting to get to Miami for years. All depends on the interest though

  3. German Says:

When are you going to do one in Phoenix, AZ?!

  4. Kat Says:

    Hello,
Do you know if your coming to the Bay Area? We could really use you out here. Especially with the ‘occupy’ situation. Oakland would be a good place to come. I want to learn everything I can; criminal, civil, and taxes, to help as many people I can. The police, CHP, and courts are really taking advantage of us. Were tired of them taking our hard earned money.

  5. Marc Stevens Says:

It all depends on the numbers, I need 20 people pre-registered to cover expenses

  6. chris Says:

Yes please come to the bay area…I will be there!

  7. Akhero Says:

I missed the workshop in LA last year I am glad this is going to be in San Diego. I’ll be there.

  8. Marc Stevens Says:

Great,it has not been confirmed yet, but it should be Feb. 18

  9. tom vinson Says:

Dear Marc, I would very much like to attend your workshop in San Diego. Can I just mail the money order with my name to pre-register? Or do you need any other info in advance? I am facing Felony Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor DUI charges with a Public Defender who is not really helping. I have consulted with 3 lawyers who want $5,000 to $10,000 for their “help”

  10. Marc Stevens Says:

It’s set for Feb. 18th and you can mail the $75. Email me about this

  11. Nathan Mills Says:

    Hi Mark
I plan on attending in San Diego. I also want to join you for the jam session. I am a pro trumpet player in San Diego. I heard you have a sax player coming – who is it?

  12. Marc Stevens Says:

Very cool, I’ll email you about this.

  13. John Says:

    Greetings-
It’s been close to ten years since I read your guide to the public relations rabbit hole. It’s DEEP!
How’s the count for the SF Bay area?
    Whatever it is,
    I’ll contribute 2 more.
Should we plan on seeing you in Oakland when you are in THIS STATE
    for your San Diego event?
    Thanks, Marc – for everything.

  14. Marc Stevens Says:

@ John email me about it, Oakland is probable

  15. John Says:

    Greetings, Marc;

    I just found your reply,
I’ve got this email ready, and can’t find your address.
Seems here is as good a place as any. . .

As much as I hate to start anything with an apology,

It appears I must this time, because I sure dropped the ball.

Not only do I apologize, I sincerely regret it.

Is it too late to pick it up?

    Again, thanks for everything, Marc.
You’ve helped more than you may ever know.

    – John

  16. Elizabeth Renaud Says:

    Hi, Mark,

I am planning to attend the San Diego event. Do you want me to put payment in the mail or bring with me?

    Thanks,

    Elizabeth

  17. Marc Stevens Says:

You can bring it with you, will help to have a computer with you though to have the files we’ll be using.

  18. Minos Muse Says:

    Hi Marc,

Just wanted to make it clear that it’s $75/each for admissions. Can I bring it tomorrow to cafe Liberteria? Thanks.

    Minos

  19. Marc Stevens Says:

Yes, but bring a computer if you can so you can get the docs, I may not have enough hard copies for everyone.

  20. Skemuno Says:

    Hi Marc,

I registered to the site in hopes of finding a role playing partner but my account has yet to me activated… Therefore I cannot post messages or PM anyone. The strange thing is I was able to post on your thread called “My traffic ticket” and make a post. I explained my situation and I found someone willing to role play with me but he said to contact him through the forum but I cannot post or private message anyone… Please activate my account, thanks in advance.

  21. Marc Stevens Says:

There are a few glitches with the forum, you’re activated.

  22. bruce sloane Says:

who is the bass player ..?? the one with the bald spot …

  23. John Says:

You and your site have come a LONG WAY!
    I’m impressed, and very grateful.
I’m still looking forward to attending one of these seminars.
How’s the count for the SF Bay area?
    As I said last time. . .
    Whatever the count is,
    I’ll contribute 2 more.
I’m supprised you aren’t getting more response.
You have what we NEED to learn.
If necessary, I’m sure I know a couple more who would want to attend.
They just don’t know it yet.
Well, they do, but it’s just not at the top of their list to spend what few bucks they have on.
That will quickly change if you are/by the time you head this way!
That makes 4 seats you can count on being filled to make this happen.
Response on your site seems kinda slow, and a seminar is a very localized thing compared to the WORLD wide web.
Would it be possible to quietly advertise locally?
If so, how would you want it structured?
Tell me you have some fliers already made up in PDF, that can be downloaded, printed, and posted. . . OR,
Tell me what else I can do to make this happen!
Thanks again, Marc – for Everything.
    John

  24. Jeff Says:

Any possibilities of an east coast seminar. I would love to catch you in boston or new york

  25. David Says:

    Hi Marc,

“Dittos” also, to the preceding post/ remark. Any chance of a seminar on the east coast/ New England area, including metro Boston, or other locale? Please let me know at your earliest chance or opportunity. I’m sure that your information, particularly all revisions since you did past workshops in Austin. We’d love to have you come east sometime.

    Best regards, and Appreciatively,

    David

  26. teresa h. Says:

marc, are you still doing consults & answering an e-mail or two? looks like your e-mail address has changed & is no longer marcstevens@marcstevens.net? correct? do you give out the new one? need a little help at this time. you’ve been a great help to me these past couple of years.

  27. Marc Stevens Says:

@ teresa I am doing both, looks like the marcstevens@marcstevens.net has a problem, use marcstevens(at)mail(dot)com

  28. Dave Says:

    Boston area would be excellent

  29. Marc Stevens Says:

I would like to go to Boston.

  30. Dave Says:

What needs to happen to make that happen? You have a mailing list, 20 people at 75 bucks doesn’t seem like too high a hurdle

  31. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Dave you’d think that, it’s always tough to get the orders in advance, most want to pay at the door. I can’t do that because I have to pay for the flight and room. I can post something about it and see what kind of interest there is. I’m thinking it’s going to be easier when the new book is finally out.

  32. Dave Says:

I would like you to come here, let me know what I can do to help

  33. Dave Says:

I am not far from Keene NH too, maybe we could pull from there, about an hour west of Boston

  34. Dave Says:

This email isn’t working marcstevens@marcstevens.net what are you using now?

  35. Marc Stevens Says:

    @ Dave, use marcstevens(at)mail(dot)com

  36. Minos Muse Says:

is there another workshop in san diego this month. I like to go again and get training. thanks

    Minos

  37. Marc Stevens Says:

@ Minos, no I don’t have anything planned for San Diego. Have tentative plans for Garnder, Mass. for July 28, 2012 though. May get back to Salt Lake this summer also.
